County has new democrat commissioner of elections

LAKE PLEASANT—When the Hamilton County Board of Supervisors met on May 23, it passed three resolutions, starting with following to APPOINT JADE SHERMAN AS DEMOCRATIC COMMISSIONER OF ELECTIONS.

WHEREAS, this Board has received a recommendation from the Hamilton County Democratic Committee, in accordance with the provisions of Section 3-204 sub 5 of the Election Law, to appoint Jade Sherman a resident and qualified voter of the Town of Wells, Democratic Commissioner of Elections, to fill a vacancy, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the recommendation be accepted, and Jade Sherman is hereby appointed as Democratic Commissioner of Elections to fill a vacancy for a term beginning May 25, 2022 and ending December 31, 2024, and be it further

RESOLVED, that the annual salary of the Democratic Commissioner of Elections is hereby set at $54,537 on an annual prorated basis for the remainder of 2022 and the annual salary be set by Local Law at budget time each year payable in bi-weekly installments and the County Treasurer and Personnel Officer be so advised.

MAP COPIER FOR COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE

WHEREAS the Hamilton County Clerk's Office purchased an OCE map copier in January 2010 for $2,759.00 that has served the office well, and

WHEREAS this copier is no longer functioning, and a recent quote estimated the cost to fix the current problem would be $1,500.00, and

WHEREAS this copier is over 10 years old and other issues could arise that would require additional service calls and parts replacement, if available, and

WHEREAS a recent quote was obtained from Derby Office Equipment for a new Canon Color Copier under state contract price in the amount of $4,726.45, which includes a rebate and removal and recycling of the current OCA copier as Derby Office Equipment felt there is no longer any value in this copier and therefore no trade-in value, and

WHEREAS the Canon Color Copier is highly recommended for the department’s needs and would relieve the additional pressure that has been put on the Real Property Tax Department for making map copies for the County Clerk’s Office, and

WHEREAS the County Clerk met with the Central Government Committee and made them aware of this equipment issue and they agreed that a new copier was needed, be it

RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby authorized to purchase a new Canon Color Copier under state contract price in the amount of $4,726.45, and be it further

RESOLVED, that the County Treasurer is hereby authorized to transfer $4,726.45 from Contingent Account A1990.0401 to Account No. A1410.0405 Supplies for the purchase of said copier and the County Clerk and Clerk of the Board be so notified.

PAYMENT FOR FORD TRUCKS - DPW

WHEREAS Resolution No. 115-22 authorizes the purchase a one (1) 2022 Ford F600 truck and Resolution No. 134-22 authorizes the purchase of one (1) Ford F550 Crew Cab for use by the DPW, and

WHEREAS the said trucks ordered were delivered, and

WHEREAS, the Superintendent has inspected the said trucks and they meet specification and recommends payment of the trucks, be it

RESOLVED, the County Treasurer is hereby authorized to make payment to Don’s Ford, Route 12N, Utica, NY 13502 in the amount of $150,030 and the funds to be taken out of Account No. DM5130.201 Road Equipment for the DPW and the County Highway Superintendent and the Clerk of the Board be so notified.
