County starts work on 2020 budget

LAKE PLEASANT—The Hamilton County Board of Supervisors had it first look at the 2020 Tentative budget when it met on November 7. Over the weeks ahead, the supervisors will hold several meetings to work on the budget before holding a public hearing on the preliminary budget.
What follows is where work on the budget begins. Last year’s budget figures are shown in (parentheses)
The General Fund is showing appropriations of $14,029,876 ($13,328,139), and estimated property taxes of $4,091,557 ($3,968,407).
The Highway Fund is divided into two sections, County Road and Machinery.
The County Road Fund shows appropriations of $5,846,028 ($5,425,577) and estimated property taxes of $3,576,003 ($3,459,552).
The Machinery Fund shows appropriations of $1,936,878 ($1,867,575) and estimated property taxes of $1,025,878 ($1,006,475).
